FINA is delighted to reveal the list of 50 marathon swimmers, 25 men and 25 women, who will participate in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games 10km Marathon swimming race.

The lists include 28 countries:

Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Spain, France, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Russia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Tunisia, USA and Venezuela.

The first 10 spots on both lists were awarded on the basis of the results of the 2015 FINA World Championships 10km race, in Kazan (RUS).

20 more spots (10 men, 10 women) were attributed to the best of the Marathon Swimming Olympic Games Qualification Tournament in Setubal (POR) in early June. In addition, the next-best from each of the five continents also earned a berth in Setubal.
