The FINA President Dr Julio C. Maglione welcomed the guests with some inspiring words: “We are halfway through a great competition: Open Water Swimming, Diving, and Artistic Swimming are concluding their events, while Water Polo proceeds with both the men’s and women’s tournament. Moreover, in the second week of the FINA showcase, Swimming and High Diving will generate memorable performances here in Korea. The quality of the venues and the top-level TV production are being highly appreciated by the FINA family.”

Dr Maglione continued by praising the hard work of all those contributing to this accomplishment. “All of you, members of the FINA Family, play a decisive role in this achievement. Our athletes, coaches, officials are devoted to the Aquatics’ winning strategy, and they are proving here in Gwangju that effort and dedication are key for success”, Dr Maglione said. “Let’s continue making Aquatics and FINA more attractive and successful for the years to come!
