The youngest Chinese athlete at the Tokyo 2020 Games, Quan Hongchan didn’t take long to write her name into the Olympic record books as the 14-year-old won the Women’s 10m Platform event. Born in the rural village of Maihe in southeastern China, the Tokyo event was her first time competing internationally.

Hongchan scored perfect 10s on two of her dives en route to scoring 466.2 points, a new Olympic record. She followed up her historic international debut with more precious medals at last year’s World Aquatics Championships in Budapest (HUN) by winning both the Women's 10m Synchronised and Mixed 3m &10m Team event, along with a silver in the Women's 10m Platform.

Competing in her first Diving World Cup in the fall of 2022, Hongchan medalled in both her events, taking home gold in the Women 10m Synchronised and silver in the Women 10m Platform.

Hailing from Shanghai, Chen Yuxi is a member of the National Diving Team. As a World Aquatics Championship “rookie”, she made the most of her debut by winning the gold medal in the 10m Platform event at Gwangju 2019. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, she won the gold medal in the 10m synchro and the silver medal in the 10m event. Later that same year, she won the gold medal in the 10m synchro event and silver medal in the 10m individual event at the 14th National Games held in Xi’an Aoti Aquatic Center.

Coming into the 2023 season, Chen Yuxi is the one to beat as she is the reigning World Aquatics Champion, winning both the 10m event and 10m sychro event at Budapest 2022.  She followed up this success at the inaugural Diving World Cup event later that year by winning gold in both the 10m and 10m Sychro event.

Hailing from Hubei, Wang Zongyuan picked up diving at the age of six. By now, still only 20 years old, he has evolved into one of the best divers in the world. At his World Aquatics Championships debut in Gwangju (KOR) 2019, he immediately won gold in the 1m springboard.

Then in 2021, he became the Olympic champion in the 3m-synchronized event and added another silver medal in the individual event at the Tokyo Games. At the World Aquatics Championships - Budapest 2022, Wang was the most successful diver of all, winning three golds from 1m, 3m and in the 3m synchronized event. He is now one of only two athletes to win the world title from 1m more than once, and his career has only just started.

Getting his sporting start in gymnastics first at the age of four, Yang Jian took of diving five years later. With a penchant for his desire to push himself and perform risky jumps earned the Sichuan native the nickname “King of Difficulty” amongst his teammates. Shortly after his international debut, he became history’s first to accomplish a dive with a 4.1 difficulty and set a world record single jump score of 123 points with the dive.

Battling through injuries over the past half-decade, Yang Jian returned to his best at the World Aquatics Championships – Budapest 2022 where he won the Men 10m Platform gold, a defense of his title in the same event from the Gwangju 2019 event.
