The press conference gets underway on 17 June at 11:00 CET local time (09:00 GMT), followed by an unveiling of the new Mikasa water polo ball at the Stopper Uszohaz, a venue on the Danube River near the Duna Arena.

Media looking to attend are requested to meet at the Duna Arena, where they will be transported to the press conference venue location which is taking place on a nearby boat on the Danube River. Transport will run from the Duna Arena at 10:15, 10:30 and 10:45 am.

The press conference will commence with a host of sports governance leaders, including FINA President Husain Al-Musallam and FINA Executive Director Brent Nowicki.

Nine-time FINA World Championship gold medallist and three-time Olympic swimming champion Katinka Hosszu of Hungary is among the headlining athletes also attending the press conference. The roster of world-class athletes at the press conference includes Olympic champion Yui Ohashi of Japan (swimming), German Olympic Champion Florian Wellbrock (swimming and open water swimming), and Natalia Vega of the United States (artistic swimming).

Joining for the Mikasa water polo ball unveiling will be Olympic men’s water polo bronze medallist Krisztian Manhercz of Hungary and Olympic women’s water polo bronze medallist Rebecca Parkes of Hungary.

In addition to the 19th edition of the FINA World Championships that runs from 18 June to 3 July, the event programme also features the FINA Extraordinary General Congress on 19 June. The Congress will take place at the Puskas Arena from 14:00-16:30 CET. Accredited event media are invited to attend the Congress as observers. As seating at the Congress is limited, accredited event media seating will only be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets to the event will be distributed at the Congress check-in booth before the event.

The 19th FINA World Championships feature the aquatic disciplines of swimming, diving, water polo, artistic swimming and open water swimming.
