Men’s 50m Freestyle: Ryan Held (USA) could become the first man representing Team USA to win the men’s 50m freestyle at the world short course championships.

Team USA claimed six medals in this specific event (G0-S2-B4), more than in any other event without ever winning gold.

Women’s 100m Individual Medley: Anastasia Gorbenko (ISR) won the women’s 50m breaststroke on Friday. She can become the second swimmer, male or female, to win the 100m individual medley and 50m breaststroke at the world short course championships, after Brooke Hanson (AUS) in 2004.

Women’s 50m Butterfly: Ranomi Kromowidjojo (NED, gold in 2018) and Sarah Sjöström (SWE, gold in 2014) could become the third woman to win the 50m butterfly multiple times at the world short course championships, after Jenny Thompson (3) and Therese Alshammar (2).

Sweden claimed four gold medals in the women’s 50m butterfly at the world short course championships, more than in any other event.

Men’s 100m Individual Medley: Daiya Seto (JPN) can become the second male swimmer to complete the 100m/200m individual medley double at a single world short course championships, after Ryan Lochte (USA) in 2008, 2010 and 2012.

General: Team Italy has already collected eight medals at these world short course championships. Italian swimmers have only won more medals at a single edition in 2006 (12).
