Women’s 50m Breaststroke: Anastasia Gorbenko is the first swimmer representing Israel to win a gold medal at a world championships (short or long course).
 
Women’s 200m Butterfly: Lana Pudar is the first swimmer representing Bosnia and Herzegovina to claim a medal at a world championships, European championships or Olympic Games.
 
Pudar, 15 years and 332 days old, is the youngest medallist in an individual event at a world short course championships since Ruta Meilutyte (LTU) in 2012.
 

Women’s 4x50m Medley Relay: Sweden wins a world title in a relay event for the first time since the world short course championships in 2002, when it won the women's 4x100m medley and women's 4x100m freestyle.

Women’s 100m Backstroke: Kira Toussaint (NED) can win her first medal in a world championships (short or long course). Last November, she and Sarah Sjöstrom (both 4) claimed the most gold medals at the European short course championships.

Toussaint can become the first swimmer representing Netherlands to win a world title (short or long course) in a backstroke event.

Men’s 200m Freestyle: Hwang Sunwoo can become the second swimmer representing Republic of Korea to win a medal at the world championships, after Park Tae-Hwan (G3-S2-B0 in short course, G2-S0-B1 in long course).

Men’s 100m Breaststroke: Arno Kamminga can become the second man representing Netherlands to win an individual title in the world short course championships, after Jesse Puts who won the men's 50m freestyle in 2016.

Women’s 200m Butterfly: Zhang Yufei (CHN) won the women's 200m butterfly at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. She can become the third woman to win this event at the Olympic Games and the world short course championships, after Susie O'Neal (AUS) and Mireia Belmonte (ESP).

Men’s 100m Backstroke: Kliment Kolesnikov (RSF, 9 July 2000) has already won three titles in the world short course championships, most for a swimmer born in the 21st century.
Last November, Kolesnikov (7) won the most medals at the European short course championships: G3-S2-B2

Day 2 - Morning Session

Men’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay: Vladimir Morozov (part of the RSF team in the heats) is the fifth swimmer to win a world short course title at five successive editions, after Ryan Lochte (USA, 6 from 2004-2014), James Hickman (GBR, 5 from 1997-2004), Chad Le Clos (RSA, 5 from 2010-2018) and Daiya Seto (JPN, 5 from 2012-2021).

Morozov is the third male swimmer to win 10 gold medals at the world short course championships, after Lochte (21) and Le Clos (10).

Women’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay: Canada and United States finish first in the exact same time. For the first time at the world short course championships, the gold medal in an event is shared.

Men’s 200m Individual Medley: Daiya Seto is the fourth swimmer to win a world short course title at five successive editions, after Ryan Lochte (USA, 6 from 2004-2014), James Hickman (GBR, 5 from 1997-2004) and Chad Le Clos (RSA, 5 from 2010-2018).

Seto (G6-S3-B4) wins his 13th medal at the world short course championships to become the most decorated Asian athlete in this competition, surpassing China’s Le Jingyi (G10-S0-B2).

Women’s 400m Individual Medley: Tessa Cieplucha (CAN) is the fourth Canadian to claim a world short course title in an individual event, after Curtis Myden in the men’s 400m individual medley in 1993, Joanne Malar in the women’s 400m individual medley in 1995 and Jennifer Carroll in the women’s 50m backstroke in 2002.

Silver medallist Ellen Walshe (IRL) is the second medallist representing Ireland at the world short course championships, after Shane Ryan who took bronze in the men’s 50m backstroke in 2018.

Men’s 200m Butterfly: Bronze medallist Chad Le Clos (RSA) claims his fifth medal in this event at the world short course championships (G3-S1-B1). Le Clos is the fifth male swimmer to achieve this in an individual event.

Le Clos picks up his 16th medal in total at the world short course championships, surpassing Michael Klim (AUS, 15) and Tom Shields (USA, 15) in third place on the all-time men’s list behind Lochte (38) and Vladimir Morozov (RUS, 20).

Men’s 400m Freestyle: Felix Aubock became the second-ever Austrian to claim a world short course title, after Markus Rogan who won the men’s 200m Backstroke in 2008.
