FINA President Husain Al Musallam addressed a message to our divers at the end of the Olympic program in Tokyo
After thirteen days of enthralling competition here in Tokyo, Olympic Diving concluded today with yet another thrilling final.
We must congratulate our incredible divers who all contributed to making Diving at Tokyo 2020 such a great success.
As ever, you left us in awe of your breath-taking acrobatics, laser focus and flawless timing. I am sure that as a result of your Olympic performances, Diving will have made many new fans and you will have inspired many future athletes to take up the sport.
We know it was not easy for you to get here. But you showed great strength and perseverance. Many of you came here to Tokyo in May despite all the significant challenges, for the World Cup and to test the pool. Once again, you demonstrated your unwavering commitment and dedication to the sport.
It has been my pleasure to meet with many of you over the last two weeks in Tokyo. As I have made clear, I am passionate about working with you, and all Aquatics athletes, to help our sport realise its enormous potential.
With Water Polo yet to conclude at Tokyo 2020 we still have more great Aquatics to enjoy and I am sure you will be cheering them on.
I wish you all a safe trip home and I look forward to seeing you soon.
