On 12 November 2019, a doping control was conducted on the Water Polo player Volodimyr Voitenko (UKR). The athlete was tested positive to the substance Hydrochlorothiazide (Class S5. Diuretics and Masking Agents).
According to the decision of the FINA Doping Panel, Mr. Volodimyr Voitenko has been found to have committed an anti-doping rule violation under FINA DC Rule 2.1 – presence of prohibited substance in an athlete’s sample. As a result, he has been sanctioned with an (8) eight-month ineligibility period commencing on 17 February 2020, and ending at the conclusion of 16 October 2020."
