2021 Annual Report
The easing of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions in 2021 enabled the return to a more normal calendar of events, as evidenced with the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) and the Tokyo Olympic Games taking place following their postponement in 2020. Away from the water, 2021 marked a year of far-reaching reform that was begun by FINA’s new president, Captain Husain Al-Musallam. 2020 Annual Report
The rapid spread of COVID-19 brought everyday life to an abrupt halt in early 2020, reminding us that nothing is more important than our health. With the health and safety of athletes, staff and fans the single most important consideration, aquatics events and competitions were halted around the world as health and social distancing measures came into effect.
