Following up on the success of the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic terms, World Aquatics and the Hungarian government are working together to give up to twenty top student-athletes a suitable environment to continue preparing for elite performance while also giving them a head-start on their post-sports career with the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme.

This innovative and comprehensive programme enables emerging elite swimmers to continue their sport careers while also pursuing their academic aspirations at respected Hungarian universities.

This programme is all about providing opportunities to international swimmers who have – or are on their way – to make their mark in swimming globally. This programme was specifically created to allow scholarship holders to advance with expert coaching and sports assistance while studying at Hungarian universities.

"I am thrilled to continue our partnership with the Hungarian government and the Hungarian Swimming Association. This scholarship programme provides an exceptional opportunity for an athlete looking to pursue a university education while competing at an elite level," said World Aquatics President Husain Al-Musallam. "Improving global swimming performance demands that athletes worldwide have access to suitable facilities, coaching, sports science, and educational opportunities. This initiative further empowers athletes to reach their full potential."

“Our commitment to this university student-athlete scholarship program reflects our dedication to providing excellent coaching and access to sports facilities like the Duna Arena. We are proud to showcase Hungary's renowned education system and sporting excellence, aiming to inspire more athletes to pursue academic and professional opportunities within our nation.

"The Hungarian Swimming Association is fully committed to continue offering comprehensive professional support to all participants throughout their tenure in the programme."
