With a total of 19 medals (9 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze) Hungary was the top nation at the fourth leg of the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup 2016 taking place in Dubai (UAE) on October 4-5.

Katinka Hosszu (HUN), 27, greatly contributed the European nation's success with her nine victories over the two-day competition in namely; the 200/400m free, 800m free, 50/100m back, 200m fly and 100/200/400m IM.

Zsuzsanna Jakabos and Gergely Gyurta (HUN) added four silver and one bronze medals and one bronze medal respectively to the nation's tally.

Hosszu now counts an incredible 639 points, making her easily maintain her leading position of the women's rankings. She is followed by Jamaica's Alia Atkinson on 235 points, who won the 50m breast on Day 2 in Dubai.

Russia followed the top nation ranking with 12 medals, three of which were gold from Vladimir Morozov who clocked the best time of the meet in the 50/100m free and 100m IM. He is leading the men's scoring since the beginning of the 2016 Series.

South Africa's Chad Le Clos triumphed in the the three butterfly distance events (50, 100 and 200), while compatriot Myles Brown was the fastest in the 1500m free.

Alia Atkinson (JAM) and Vladimir Morozov (RUS) are the best athletes of the Dubai meet with both coincidently 977 FINA points.

The competition resumes on Saturday and Sunday October 8-9 with the last leg of Cluster #2, taking place in Doha (QAT).
