The second leg of the 2018 edition of the FINA/CNSG Diving World Series, held in Fuji (JPN) on March 15-17 displayed once more the supremacy of China, whose team collected all 10 gold medals on offer. This impressive performance replicated the result of the inaugural meet of the circuit, in Beijing (CHN), when the Asian powerhouse imposed its domination on all events.

In Fuji, host of this competition for the first time, the Chinese divers made the 1-2 in all individual events, with the exception of the men's 3m springboard, where Illia Zakharov (RUS) managed to get the silver, between the two representatives from China in the final: Cao Yuan (gold) and Xie Siyi (bronze).

Otherwise, Lian Junjie and Yang Jian, by this order, prevailed in the men's 10m platform, leaving the bronze for the best French diver in action, Benjamin Auffret. In the women's field, Shi Tingmao (first) and Wang Han (second) were the best in the 3m event, while Zhang Jiaqi managed to beat Olympic champion Ren Qian in the 10m. Kristina Ilinykh (RUS) on the lower board, and home star Minami Itahashi (JPN) on the platform completed the podium in the women's individual events.

In synchro action, it was also China all the way through, with Cao Yuan/Xie Siyi (men's 3m), Yang Hao/Chen Aisen (men's 10m), Chang Yani/Shi Tingmao (women's 3m) and Zhang Minjie/Zhang Jiaqi (women's 10m) controlling operations. Pairs from Russia, Japan, Ukraine, Australia, Canada, DPR Korea and Malaysia also medalled in these events.

Finally, in the mixed 3m and 10m, Chinese duets also prevailed (Li Zheng/Wang Han in the lower board, and Lin Shan/Lian Junjie in the platform), with Great Britain (superstar Tom Daley paired with Grace Reid for silver in the 3m), Russia and Japan getting the minor medals.

The third leg of the 2018 FINA/CNSG Diving World Series will take place in Montreal (CAN), on April 27-29.

All the Series action can be followed live or on demand on FINAtv and detailed news reports are available on FINA website.
