On June 27, 2010, the 45th Capri-Napoli (ITA) race (36km) will take place in the Mediterranean Sea, as part of the circuit of the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix (fifth stage). Very rich is start list for the traditional Italian race, which this year has as a testimonial world champion in the 25km distance, Valerio Cleri. Among men stand out Argentina’s Blaum and Villagoiz, Slovenian Rok, El Zanaty from Egypt, Australian Capell and the home favourites Valenti and Volpini, the latter finishing second behind Rotislav Vitek (CZE), this time absent.


Neither there was Camilla Frediani, 2009 winner in front of Pilar Geijo (ARG), who instead was at the start and announced among the favorites, along with compatriot Mendoza, Nunez (ESP) and Romiti (ITA), winner in 2007.

The race started at 10.30 from the Grotta Azzurra (Blue Cave) in Napoli (ITA).
