Mexico was the fourth best team (370.3330), followed by Egypt (345.1660). Greece, Kazakhstan, Russia, USA and Italy did not take part in all events, therefore are not included in the overall rankings.

Day 3 featured the Free Combination with China adding another gold medal, amassing 96.6670 points in the event. Ukraine, whose team surprised by its freshness, elegance and artistic expression, finished second with 94.8340. Spain's powerful performance earned them the bronze (94.8330).

Speaking after the event, Chinese coach Zhang Xzaolez said: "It is very important for the Chinese team to win this competition and compete with nations that perform such wonderful routines."

When asked what was the team's winning strategy, she continued: "It's a lot different from last year's World Trophy competition so we cannot compare. We made a lot of changes in the team and are now working to consolidate and build a strong national team."

On the routine, Ukraine's synchro swimmer Kateryna Sadurska said: "Our routine reflects traditional elements of our culture, we wanted to show the happiness of our people, making it a vibrant and joyful performance."

Ukraine's coach Mezhenina Valeriya added: "It is a work of many years, perfecting movements of each of the athletes. We work with the girls at an early age to see their potential and strength in the pool."

Commenting on team Mexico's performance, Mezhenina Valeriya said: "Congratulations on the team, and all participants. Only by working hard you get to earn a place among the world's best."
