FINA leadership are currently in Gwangju, South Korea, to review and assess the preparations to the upcoming 18th FINA World Championships, to be held from July 12-28.

The FINA delegation, led by FINA Executive Director Mr. Cornel Marculescu and FINA Facility Committee Chairman Mr. Joaquin Pujol, has been on a visit of Gwangju since Monday February 25 to check on the advancement of the five venues for the World Championships and to discuss final preparations.

The tour mainly focuses on inspecting the competition venues and discussing the different services provided to the key stakeholders of the event: the athletes, the officials, the sponsors and the on-site visitors. Topics such as accommodation, transportation are being thoroughly considered.

It was reported that works are on track and everything will be ready to welcome the athletes in July.
