Favorites finished on a high preliminary campaign of the FINA Women’s World League Super Final-2019, but it was with varying degrees of difficulty, which promises us an exciting denouement of the water polo action week. The major event of the season, viewed as a dress rehearsal of the FINA World Championships in Korea, is in the wings now in the Aquatics capital of Europe, Budapest, gradually approaching its decisive stages.
Italy and defending champion USA established themselves at the top of the chart, following convincing wins of the Day 3. In an impressive manner and with yet another solid performance USA handed Russia their first defeat in the tournament, remaining the only undefeated side in the Group B. Host Hungary collected first points facing “Maple Leaves”. Both managed to revive after exhausting games against favorites. Italy did not miss their point to celebrate #1 position in the Group “A”. Today they beat China, which was much harder than it looked on paper. The second best spot went to the Netherlands, which narrowly abandoned Australia to show they were far from done.
