Curiously, the women’s 10m platform saw the same countries with medals, with Ruolin Chen (CHN, the current Olympic champion) winning in 423.45, Kang Li taking the silver in 405.05, and another Mexican, this time Paola Espinosa, getting the bronze in 401.30.

In the synchronised events, Lin Yue/Huo Liang (the Olympic gold medallists) were also clearly superior to the rest of the field, triumphing in 468.90, and “repeating” the final of the 2008 Games in Beijing, in which they also advanced Patrick Hausding/Sascha Klein (GER). In Doha, the German duet finished in 445.20, better than the 433.92 obtained by Russia’s Victor Minibaev/Semen Kokunov. In the women’s 3m springboard synchro, China’s Wang Han/He Zi triumphed in 342.90, while like in the men’s event, Germans Nora Subschinski/Katja Dieckow took the silver in 300.30. Francesca Dallape and Tania Cagnotto, from Italy, were third with 297.30.
