On 26 November 2016, the swimmer Yassmin Ahmed Mahmoud (EGY) was tested positive to the prohibited substance 19-Norandrosterone (Class S.1.1.A Exogenous Anabolic Androgenic Steroids) following an in-competition doping control test.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Egyptian Swimming Federation imposed a sanction of four (4) years’ ineligibility period on the athlete starting on 17 January 2017, for her first anti-doping rule violation.
