On 10th July 2018, the water polo player Alexandr Godovanyuk (KAZ) was tested positive to the prohibited substance Dehydrochloromethyltestosterone (Class S1.1A Exogenous Anabolic Androgenic Steroids).

The Disciplinary Commission of the National Anti-Doping Center of Kazakhstan imposed a sanction of four (4) years’ ineligibility period on the athlete starting on 2nd August 2018 and ending on 1st August 2022, for his first anti-doping rule violation.
