Two Malaysians, Pandelela Rinong and Traisy Vivian came in third and fourth while Tam Lok Man from Hong Kong, China placed fifth.

During the Beijing Olympic Games last year, Chen also shocked her rivals by winning the platform title with a 100.30 game-high score for her last dive, though she was behind Canadian veteran Emilie Heymans after the fourth round. China had lost the women's platform gold’s since the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

Since the Shenzhen Grand Prix is the first international event in 2009, Chen admitted: "I didn't perform my best in the final. I guess I'm a little bit tired today because I competed in preliminary, semi and final in one day."

"It's my first international meet since the Beijing Olympic Games. I need to forget the fame and start from zero," Chen said.
Chen will compete in platform synchro on Feb. 14, together with her new partner Kang Li because her Olympic champion partner Wang Xin had an eye operation last year.

The three-day Shenzhen Grand Prix will end on Sunday, Feb. 15.
