The World Aquatics Men’s U20 Water Polo Championships – Otopeni/Bucharest 2023 will take place from 10-17 June 2023.

With the updated Competition Regulations, the U20 Water Polo Championships now has an eight-day competition system instead of the previous nine competition days. The previously announced dates of the Men’s U20 Water Polo Championships – Otopeni/Bucharest 2023 were 10-18 June 2023.

Three hundred top age-group water polo players representing 20 junior national teams will play in Romania’s capital of Bucharest and the neighbouring city of Otopeni for the global men’s U20 water polo crown.

The World Aquatics Women’s U20 Water Polo Championships – Coimbra 2023 will take place from 8-15 September 2023. The women’s age-group championships will also use the new eight-day competition system. The previously announced dates of the Women’s U20 Water Polo Championships – Coimbra 2023 were 2-10 September 2023.

Three hundred emerging elite water polo players under the age of 20 representing 20 junior national teams will compete in the capital city of Portugal’s central region, with the winner taking home the world crown.

The team draw for the Women’s U20 Water Polo Championships will take place two months prior to the start of the tournament.
