Swimming is one of seven sports on the programme, where young male and female world-class swimmers aged 14-18 will compete for a Commonwealth Youth medal.

“The Trinidad and Tobago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games present a fantastic opportunity for young swimmers to test their skills against the next generation of world-class athletes from the Commonwealth,” said FINA President Husain Al-Musallam.

More than 1000 athletes will compete across seven sports at the Trinidad and Tobago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games:

  • Aquatics (swimming)
  • Athletics
  • Cycling (Road Race, Time Trial and Track)
  • FAST5 Netball
  • Rugby Sevens
  • Triathlon
  • Beach Volleyball

As well as competing alongside some of the best young swimmers from Commonwealth teams, young swimmers will enjoy a festival of the country’s activities.

Trinidad and Tobago had initially been awarded the 2021 Commonwealth Youth Games in June 2019, but that event was postponed due to the impact of the pandemic on the international sports calendar.
