The second leg of the FINA UltraMarathon Swim Series 2021 in Capri – Napoli (ITA) will see about 30 swimmers depart on Sunday September 5.

The famous annual Mediterranean 36km race is one of the most renown event in the world. It will stage its 56th edition this weekend. 

Amongst the participants are France’s Axel Reymond, multiple World champion looking at defending his title from the UltraMarathon first leg in Ohrid (MKD, August 28), as well as Netherlands’ Marcel Schouten, North Macedonia’s Evgenij Pop Acev, Ohrid bronze medallist, and Argentina Damian Blaum. 

Italy, the biggest delegation in Capri-Napoli, is entering the event with six men and three women: Marco Inglima, Riccardo Chiarcos, Edoardo Stochino (silver in Ohrid), Francesco Ghettini, Alessio Occhipinti, Simone Ruffini, Lara Gherardini, Rebecca Talanti and Barbara Pozzobon. 

Caroline Jouisse of France, silver medallist at the first leg, and Argentina’s Pilar Geijo, bronze, highlight the women’s group.
