AUSTRIA

Austria’s triplet sisters Anna-Maria Alexandri and Eirini Alexandri received the highest score of the event 92.2332 for their routine themed “Evil Dolls”. In the Technical event, the Austrian duet scored 90.5721, also the only routine to surpass the 90 mark. The sisters have improved significantly since their performance at the 2019 FINA World Championships in Gwangju where they finished 10th with 87.1000 points. With 182.8053 total points, the Austrian sisters are heading to Tokyo.    

BELARUS

The Belarus duet, Vasilina Khandoshka and Daria Kulagina” performed “Witches” to the soundtrack from the movie “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters” to claim their spot on the start list for Tokyo. Earning 89.0000 for the routine and adding 87.6593 from their Technical routine, Khandoshka and Kulagina totaled 176.6593 to rank second.

FRANCE

Finishing the qualification event in third are twin sisters from France, Laura and Charlotte Tremble. The French pair received 89.2668 for their Free routine “Amazons”, a choreography inspired by and swam to music from the Cirque du Soleil production Toruk. The 87.1933 from the technical routine gave the Tremble sister a total of 176.4601.

NETHERLANDS

Representing the Netherlands, Bregje and Noortje de Brouwer, who received 87.5620 for their Technical routine, scored 88.4668 for a total of 176.0288. The Dutch twins are exploring the unknown in this routine swum to “Intergalactic Experience” composed by Alexis Maldiney Casasús. The Netherlands have been absent from the Olympics in Artistic Swimming since the last participations of another set of twins Bianca and Sonja van der Velden represented the Netherlands at the 2004 Athens and the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

USA

Focused on the ticket to Tokyo and showing incredible strength, teamwork, and resilience, Lindi Schroeder and Remy Remati, representing the USA scored 87.3668 for “Billie Eilish”.   In the Technical event, Schroeder partnering with Anita Alvarez, received 87.2417, bringing their total to 174.6085.

ISRAEL

The Israeli duo Eden Blecher and Shelly Bobritsky swam “A New World” to original music composed by Arnua Vila, depicting the world during and after the pandemic with new rules, new ways to communicate and hopefully world peace. Blecher and Bobritsky were awarded 86.1332 points, which added to the 85.0958 from their Technical routine ranked them sixth with 171.2290 points.

GREAT BRITAIN

Great Britain's Kate Shortman and Isabelle Thorpe scored 85.2332 for their Spanish and Japanese Flamenco mix routine choreographed to a modern version of Flamenco music by Timmy Trumpet and Yuki Hayashi. Ranking seventh, Shortman and Thorpe guaranteed themselves a trip to the Olympic Games with a total of 170.9562 points.

LIECHTENSTEIN

Lara Mechnig and Marluce Schierscher, the duet representing Liechtenstein made history for their country by qualifying for the Olympic Games with their performance. The routine “Animals of the Chinese Calendar” illustrates the movements of several different animals to a variety of types of music. The history making duo scored 84.5000, which added to their Technical Routine score 83.1689, ranked them eight with 167.6689 points.

COLOMBIA

Confirming the return of Colombia to the Olympic Games, Estefania Alvarez Piedrahita and Monica Arango Estrada brought their roots into the pool with their “Salsa from Colombia” routine and were awarded 83.1668 for a total of 166.0149 points and the final ticket to Tokyo.
