The team of Ukraine finished in the best possible way its participation in the first leg of the 2020 FINA Artistic Swimming World Series, held in Paris (FRA) on March 6-8, by earning the last three gold medals on stake in the final day of the competition.
In the Team Free presentation, the Ukrainian swimmers displayed a solid routine, amassing 94.6000 points from the judges. Despite the fans’ support, France had to content with silver, in 88.6667, while the bronze medal went to Israel, with a programme earning 84.5333.
In the last two events of the French rendezvous, Ukraine was also stronger: in the Highlight Routine final, it finished first in 92.8333, with Finland getting the silver in 68.9333. In the Free Combination, the situation was similar, with only two national teams taking part in the event: once more, Ukraine was the best, snatching gold in 93.8000 – Great Britain was second in 82.7667.
With this outcome, the Ukrainian delegation left the French capital as the most prolific team, with a total of seven gold medals, out of 10 finals contested. Before the successes this Sunday, the Ukrainian stars had won both the Solo (Tech and Free) and Duet (Tech and Free) finals. Spain got two titles in the Mixed Duet (Tech and Free) events, while France got its sole victory in the Team Technical routine.
After this inaugural event in Paris, the World Series will now proceed to Hurghada (EGY), on March 27-29, 2020.
