FINA 110

Pete Desjardins (USA) is certainly one of the first stars in the world of diving. In 1928, at the Amsterdam Olympic Games, he collected gold in the 3m springboard and 10m platform. In the higher board, his victory was however controversial: taking into account the number of points, Egypt’s Farid Simaika was declared the winner, but according to the judges’ placings (determining factor at the time), Desjardins got the gold.
