EVENTS
Two (2) events are included in the program of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games for Artistic Swimming: Duets and Teams.

NOCs qualified in both the team and duet competitions may enter a maximum of eight (8) total athletes.
Teams shall be constituted in accordance with the World Aquatics Artistic Swimming Rules 6.2.1.
Type of allocation of quota places: The quota place is allocated to the NOC.
ATHLETE ELIGIBILITY
Compliance with the Olympic Charter and other relevant rules
All athletes must respect and comply with the provisions of the Olympic Charter currently in force, including but not limited to Rule 41 (Nationality of Competitors) and Rule 43 (World Anti-Doping Code and the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of Manipulation of Competitions).
Only those athletes who respect and comply with the Olympic Charter, the World Anti-Doping Code and the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions, including the conditions of participation established by the IOC, plus the rules of World Aquatics, may participate in the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
Age requirements
To be eligible to participate in the Olympic Games Paris 2024, athletes must be born on or before 31 December 2009 World Aquatics Competition Regulations.
Additional IF Eligibility Criteria:
Only the athletes who are eligible to participate at the official World Aquatics competitions, in accordance with the World Aquatics Competition Regulations, are entitled to participate in the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
QUALIFICATION PATHWAY
The qualification events are listed in hierarchical order of qualification.
Team Qualification: 10 teams

Continental Championships/Host Country: The highest placed NOCs in each of the five (5) Continental Championships will each obtain a quota place, except for the host country NOC which will be the representative of the European Continent.

World Aquatics Championships - Doha 2024 The five (5) highest placed NOCs, not yet qualified, from the World Aquatics Championships 2024 Doha (QAT), based on the combined results of the routines, will obtain a quota place. Should any of the NOCs already be qualified through the Continental Championships, the next highest placed NOCs at the World Aquatics Championships – Doha (QAT) will obtain a quota place. |
These 2 phases are held in chronological order and are not interchangeable.
Duet Qualification: 18 duets (including 10 through team qualification)

Stage 1: Duets qualified based on Team qualification. The ten (10) NOCs qualified for the team competition (including the host country) will each automatically qualify one (1) duet. |

Stage 2: Continental Championships/Host Country Subject to the maximum number of athletes per NOC, as outlined in section B above, the highest placing NOC in each of the five (5) Continental Championships will each obtain a quota place, except for the host country NOC, which will be the representative from the European Continent. Should the highest ranked eligible duet already be qualified through the team, the next highest ranked duet from the Continental qualifying event will obtain a quota place in this phase only. Should it not be feasible to allocate the quota place, the place will be added to Stage 3 of the qualification according to the results of the World Aquatics Championships 2024 Doha (QAT). |
3 Duets |
Stage 3: World Aquatics Championships 2024 – Doha (QAT) The three (3) highest ranked, not yet qualified, duets at the World Aquatics Championships 2024 Doha (QAT) will obtain a quota place for the Olympic Games. In case an NOC already qualified a duet or team, the quota place will be allocated to the next highest ranked NOC not yet qualified until the maximum quota of 18 duets is reached. The scores of the duet free and duet technical will be combined to create a ranking. |
The host country will have the right to enter one (1) team and one (1) duet in the Olympic Games while respecting the maximum number of quota places per NOC as outlined in section B.
CONFIRMATION PROCESS FOR QUOTA PLACES
Confirmation of qualification places
Following each qualification event, World Aquatics will publish the results on its website (www.worldaquatics.com) and inform the respective NOCs of their allocated quota places.
The NOCs will then have two (2) weeks to confirm if they wish to use these quota places, as detailed in paragraph H. Qualification Timeline.
Confirmation of host country places
The Host NOC/NF has to confirm the use of the allocated quota places to World Aquatics two (2) weeks after the end of the World Aquatics World Championships – Doha (QAT).
REALLOCATION OF UNUSED QUOTA PLACES
Reallocation of unused qualification places
Should an NF/NOC not enter a qualified team or duet, the unused quota place(s) will be reallocated to the next highest placed eligible duet(s) or team not yet qualified, from the World Aquatics World Championships – Doha (QAT).
Reallocation of unused host country places
Should the host country NOC decide not to enter a qualified team or duet, the unused quota place(s) will be reallocated to the next highest placed duet or team, not yet qualified, from the World Aquatics Championships 2024 – Doha (QAT).
AP ALTERNATE ATHLETES
Ap alternate athletes are non-competing athletes and are not included within the athletes’ quota as described in Paragraph B. Quota Places. More detailed information about entitlements and quotas can be found in the ‘Accreditation at the Olympic Games – Users Guide’. Ap alternate athletes can only become competing athletes as per the conditions outlined in the ‘IOC/Paris 2024 Late Athlete Replacement policy’.
Eligibility: Ap alternate athletes must comply with the same eligibility rules as competing athletes as described in above paragraph C. Athlete Eligibility.
Quota: Each qualified team is entitled to one (1) Ap alternate athlete.
