Fifth place over Germany was the same as 2001, meaning Hungary drops after the Olympic gold achievement. Germany moved up from eighth in 2007 but wasn¹t in a position to claim fifth, trailing 5-1 at halftime and 8-2 at the final break. Hungary used the game to good effect with four from five on extra ‹ the best statistics by any team at the tournament.
