Hungary has nine world championship medals but this year is not going to swell the medal cabinet. Fifth place over Germany was the same as 2001, meaning Hungary drops after the Olympic gold achievement. Germany moved up from eighth in 2007 but wasn¹t in a position to claim fifth, trailing 5-1 at halftime and 8-2 at the final break. Hungary used the game to good effect with four from five on extra ‹ the best statistics by any team at the tournament.
