DC 10.10 Financial Consequences

Where an Athlete or other Person commits an anti-doping rule violation, FINA may, in its discretion and subject to the principle of proportionality, elect to (a) impose upon the Athlete or other Person recovery costs associated with the anti-doping rule violation, regardless of the period of Ineligibility imposed and/or (b) fine the Athlete or other Person in an amount up to ten thousand American dollars (USD 10’000), only in cases where the maximum period of Ineligibility otherwise applicable has already been imposed. The imposition of a financial sanction or recovery of costs shall not be considered a basis for reducing the Ineligibility or other sanction which would otherwise be applicable under these Anti-Doping Rules or the Code.
