Kunshan, China, June 1.— United States of America is chasing its 11th FINA Women’s Water Polo World League Super Final crown when it plays Netherlands at the Kunshan Sports Centre on Saturday.

Victory over Netherlands, an 11-5 winner against last year's silver medallist Canada in the other semifinal, would mean a fifth consecutive victory of a nine-year run broken only by China in 2013. This is the 15th edition for women and USA treats this event as its own.

In Friday’s medal semifinals, USA sent off Russia 8-3 in the first medal semifinal, turning a 6-1 halftime lead into victory. For Russia, the only consolation was keeping USA scoreless in the final quarter. Kaleigh Gilchrist and Kiley Neushul scored twice each and goalkeeper Ashleigh Johnson was the real star for USA.

Netherlands burst to a 3-1 lead in the first quarter before Canada pulled one back, led 5-2 at halftime and 9-4 at the final break before winning 11-5.

In the 5-8 semifinal round, Spain beat Australia 11-8 after leading 7-3 at halftime and 10-4 at the final break. China needed to come behind in the last minute to beat Japan 8-7, thanks to two Guannan Niu goals in 38 seconds.
