The first meet of the second edition of the high-profile FINA Diving World Series launched last year started with success started during the past week-end (April 25-26) in Tijuana, Mexico. In front of an enthusiastic audience, the local Mexican divers obtained two victories: Paola Espinosa in the women’s 10m platform and Yahel Castillo in the 3m men’s springboard. In other events, Chinese athletes dominated thanks to the experienced No 1 team composed by Jingjing Guo, Minxia Wu, Feng Wang, Ruolin Chen, Kai Quin, Luxin Zhou. The last gold medal was for the Russian pair Oleg Vikulov/Konstatntin Khanbekov in the  men’s 10m platform synchro.

Following this meeting, subsequent events for the three-part series will be held in Sheffield, Great Britain (May 24-25) and Nanjing, China (May 30-31). The event will unite the best divers from around the world, who will compete on three continents for prize money worth US$480,000.
