Istanbul (TUR) will be the organiser of the 11th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m), to take place in 2012. The vote on the winning candidate was made on April 12, 2008 by the FINA Bureau on the occasion of the 9th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) in Manchester (GBR).
The other bidding city for the organisation of these championships was Vienna (AUT).
When announcing the results of the vote, the FINA President thanked the effort and commitment of the two high-quality bidders, and wished all the luck to the Turkish organisers.
After Manchester 2008 and before Istanbul 2012, the 10th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) will be held in Dubai (UAE) from April 7-11, 2010.
