PR14 - 12 teams will fight for four spots in the Games

Water Polo Men's olympic qualification tournament

Twelve teams will start on March 2, 2008 to participate in the Water Polo Men’s Olympic Qualification Tournament, which will be held in Oradea (ROU) until March 9. From this group, the first four ranked squads in the competition will qualify for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing (CHN).

The teams present in Romania will be, in Group A, Brazil, Greece, Kazakhstan, Romania, Russia and Slovakia, while Group B will comprise Canada, Germany, Iran, Italy, Macedonia and Mexico.

Already qualified for the Olympic Games are Australia, China, Croatia, Hungary, Montenegro, Serbia, Spain and USA.

After this competition, the draw for the Olympic 12-team tournament will take place on March 22, 2008 in Beijing (CHN), on the occasion of the water polo test events in the Chinese capital.
