From January until the end of June 2016, FINA has conducted 1,817 unannounced out-of-competition tests on the first 10 athletes of each swimming event at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, but also in diving, synchronised swimming, open water and water polo.

In swimming, the number of unannounced out-of-competition tests in some territories were as follows:

These tests were conducted in coordination with NADOs, and in addition to WADA and IOC tests.

The total cost for all missions conducted between January 1st and June 30 amounts to USD 1,490,000.

FINA will continue the unannounced out-of-competition testing programme until Rio 2016 but also after.
