Reigning champion USA maintained composure and reputation throughout the six-day tournament in Shanghai to finally win the World League crown this weekend at the FINA Water Polo World League Super Final 2017.

Powerhouse USA, who has collected all elite titles of the recent years including the Rio 2016 Olympic Games gold, remained unbeaten the entire competition and finally defeated Canada 12-6 in the final on Sunday June 11 (1-2, 3-4, 2-3, 0-3).

In the bronze medal match, Russia managed to beat Hungary 9-7 (3-1, 1-2, 2-0, 3-4), while the Netherlands placed fifth after winning 14-4 against the host (0-4, 3-2, 0-4, 1-4).

Intercontinental Tournament winners Australia secured the seventh place, defeating Japan 10-8 on Sunday (2-5, 3-2, 2-1, 1-2).

With this victory, USA has now won 11 World League title since its inception in 2004, and this represents their fourth consecutive triumph.
