The European teams disputed the final round of the FINA Women's Water Polo World League 2017 last night in Astrakhan (RUS) and Avezzano (ITA) respectively.

Hungary narrowly defeated Italy 12-10 (3-2, 3-2, 4-2, 2-4), while the Russians crushed Greece 20-11 (5-3, 6-1, 6-4, 3-3).

Both Russia and the Netherlands have 7 points in Group A, but Russia leads the group with a better goal difference (52-41 against 36-38). The Netherlands are also going through to the Super Final thanks to a better win-loss record in Group A, with 3 wins compared to Italy in Group B with 2 wins.

Hungary is the only team from Group B to go to the Super Final, with a clear 4 wins and a total of 11 points.

The Super Final of the FINA Women's Water Polo World League 2017 will be played from June 6-11 in Shanghai (CHN), while the Intercontinental tournament will be held in Sacramento (USA) from May 2-7.
