And once more, the juniors showed their instable skills. Mexican Juan Celaya performed the best and the worst dives of the event, scoring 76.50 points after his third and 22.50 after his fourth attempt.

In the Boys B 5-7.5-10m platform, Japan’s Reo Nishida was delighted with the first medal for his team at this tournament especially when it turned out to be gold. He claimed victory totaling 451.10. Team Russia grabbed its seventh silver in the sport complex “Burtasy”. But Maksim Lebedev didn’t seem to be disappointed with the value of the medal: he came from fifth place to take the second position after his high scoring last dive (82.50 points and 448.65 in total). A tough struggle for the bronze broke out between two Chinese divers - in the end, Zhu Han was just 0.50 points ahead of his teammate Li Zheng.

Among the Russian team, there are comments about the silver “curse”. But the Head Coach Aleksandr Civinskiy is not superstitious. On the performance of Russian athletes, he said: “It’s difficult to say what is missing and why we can’t win gold. In every single event the reasons are unique. We’ll analyse the situation after the championships. But nevertheless we show a good level. We are on the podium and that’s great!”

As we see from the individual results, it was a logy day for China. However, in the Girls A+B 3m synchro springboard Song Anxin and Wu Chunting actually claimed gold, totalling 281.70. But Chinese dominance was not so evident as usual. Australian Naomi Gowlett and Georgi Sheehan took silver just 1.02 points behind the leaders, while Elena Chernykh and Maria Polyakova (RUS) came third with a total score of 267.00.
