Following this morning’s meeting in Indianapolis during which 20 athletes were asked to share their views and opinion about the development of the sport and the professional direction it is taking as well as their preferred dates for next year’s Champions Swim Series, Belgium’s Pieter Timmers, 31, just finishing his morning training session admitted:

“It is the first time that I am taking part in a meeting like this one.”

“For us it is a really good thing that the Federation is asking our opinion. They are concerned with our needs and our agenda."

“I am very satisfied with how the meeting was organised and run.” the Rio silver medallist concluded.

Regarding the Champions Swim Series 2020 being held at the beginning of the year, the freestyler expressed a preference for early February.

“February is good for me, it would be ok. In Europe of course would be ideal.”

“Berlin would be good for example, it is a really fast pool, Budapest too. There is always a great atmosphere there.”

“One week timeframe is good too because it is easy to fit with our training schedule.”

Timmers swims the 100m free tonight in Indianapolis.
