The organising committee of the 18th FINA World Championships 2019, to be held in Gwangju, 330km south of Seoul, Korea, unveiled the design for the front of the gold, silver and bronze medals.

The Organising Committee said it was inspired by two landmarks of the host city: Mount Mudeung and Youngsan River.

On the back, the medals symbolise spreading values of democracy, human rights and peace throughout the world.

The medals were designed to reflect Gwangju's hope to transcend sports and leave a lasting legacy of peace.

The 18th edition of FINA's signature event will take place from July 12 to 28, under the slogan, "Dive into Peace."
