In 2017, St. Lucia will be host to the Commonwealth Youth Games. A new 50m pool will be constructed for the occasion and will be the first 50m pool on the island.

The participants were very active in both the theory and pool session, which was held at the Rodney Heights Aquatics Centre, an outdoor 25m pool with eight lanes. Girls and boys from the local St. Lucian clubs took part in the pool practice, which included 50m and 100m events as well as a 4x50m medley mixed relay.
