The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) awarded FINA President Dr. Julio C. Maglione the Gold Collar, the highest distinction of CONI for Italian Sport Personalities.
The award was handed on Tuesday December 19 by Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni to President Maglione and two other IF Presidents - Gianni Infantino (FIFA) and Ivo Ferriani (International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation). They all have an Italian passport.
Other Aquatics personalities being awarded on the same occasion were Italian swimmers Federica Pellegrini and Gregorio Paltrinieri.
