On 30 October 2019, the International Testing Agency (ITA), on behalf of FINA, conducted an out-of-competition doping control test on the artistic swimmer Veronika Hryshko (UKR). The athlete was tested positive to the substance Furosemide (Class S.5 Diuretic and Masking Agent).

According to the decision of the FINA Doping Panel, Ms. Veronika Hryshko has been found to have committed an anti-doping rule violation under FINA DC Rule 2.1 – presence of prohibited substance in an athlete’s sample. She has been sanctioned with a four (4) months’ ineligibility period commencing on 23 December 2019, and ending at the conclusion of 24 April 2020, for her first anti-doping rule violation.
