The Chinese star, 2011 World champion and holder of the highest score on the platform, said he is overcoming his injuries and ready to perform additional dives with a higher degree of difficulty (such as a Forward 4.5 Somersault, 4.1).

"My participation is acceptable in Guadalajara, because I'm overcoming my injuries. I have two new dives and I have to work hard to improve. I am experiencing new dives to test my skills for Barcelona​", said Qiu Bo.

On his rivals in Guadalajara, he added: "It was very good to compete with the Mexicans. In the semi final, Ivan Garcia did a good job. They are athletes who can compete very well."

In the men's 10m platform, Ivan Garcia was the diver with the highest total of degrees of difficulty: 21.8, 0.1 higher than Qiu Bo.

On the last day of competition, a 3,000-strong audience cheered on the world's best divers at the Guadalajara Pan American Aquatics Complex. Mexico achieved an unprecedented result in this first Mexican leg of the Series: amassing an overall tally of seven medals: 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.

In the women's 10m platform, Huixia Liu from China dominated the competition and won the gold medal with 401.05 points. It was the first crown for Liu at the World Series. Teammate Yajie Si picked up the silver with 384 while Roseline Filion of Canada claimed the bronze with 371.05.

On her result, Huixia Lui said: "I'm happy but still I have a lot of work".

Roseline Filion said on her performance: "Today I had the best competition of the year and earn good scores to be back home with the win and train harder for Barcelona. In each competition you learn something new."
