On February 28, 2016, the swimmer Tanja Smid (SLO) was tested positive to the prohibited substance GW 1516 (Class S.4 Hormone and Metabolic Modulators) following a doping control test conducted on the occasion of the Serbian National Open Swimming Championships held in Belgrade (SRB).
 
The Slovenian Anti-Doping Organisation imposed a sanction of 4 years’ ineligibility on the athlete starting on March 18, 2016, the day of her provisional suspension.
