In the men’s 10m platform synchro, Huo Liang and Jian Yang scored 444.24 to easily snatch the gold from silver medallists Philippe Gagne and Maxime Bouchard from Canada. The American divers walked away with the bronze medal.

China added Sunday's gold to their previous win in the men's platform and women's springboard and synchro platform. The big surprise on Sunday's final was Brazil's Cesar Castro winning the gold in the men's springboard event, with a score of 467.45. Castro bested China's Sun Zhiyi, who scored 452.65 to win the silver. Brazil had previously won the silver in the women's synchro platform event.

FPN vice president Alfonso Fernandez said: "Many of these divers have been selected by their countries to be trained in anticipation for the next Olympic Games in Brazil. This competition allows them [the divers] to know each other and improve their training and technique."
