Synchro school delights judges in Athens (GRE)

Development News

A FINA school for synchronised swimming Judges was organised in Athens, Greece from March 14-18, 2012 attended by 24 participants (10 locals and 14 foreign). FINA TSSC Member Jennifer Gray from Great Britain conducted the school, which included in-depth discussions and interactive sessions.

Swimming Officials on right track in El Salvador

Development News

A swimming officials clinic (intermediate level) was organised in San Salvador, El Salvador, from March 13-19, 2012 with 35 participants, most locals and seven coming from Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua and Colombia.

Jose I. Gonzalez Arias from Guatemela, FINA TSC Member, was on site to conduct the course and share his valuable expertise.

   

Successful diving clinic held in Belem (BRA)

Development News

A successful FINA Development diving clinic was held in Belem, Brasil from 13-17 March, 2012 with 30 participants. Among them, 7 coaches, 17 judges, two officials, three students and one athlete took part in the course (intermediate to advanced level) conducted by Rolando Ruiz Pedreguera. 23 of them were locals and 7 from outside the country.

One step further for Aquatics in Rwanda

In collaboration with FINA (under its Development programme 2012), the Rwanda swimming federation (FRNA) organised a ten-day clinic from March 10-19 called "Technical course for coaches level one" in Kigali, Rwanda. There were 34 participants, all Rwandans except one trainee from Kenya. The course also welcomed athletes as observers in oorder to increase their skills on officiating issues.

This course was facilitated by German expert Gerd Nottelmann. The sessions were highly interactive and Nottelmann's knowledge and excellent teaching methods were much appreciated. The ten-day clinic was a great success, with all participants showing enthusiasm and willingness to learn. All acknowledged that they found the clinic rewarding.
