FINA CONSTITUTION (C12.4)
Any sanction imposed on a competitor or a person by FINA, a Member or by a FINA recognised body shall be recognised and enforced by all Members.
2010 Prohibited List Now Published
WADA has approved the 2010 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods. It is now available here .
This List will go into effect on January 1, 2010.
FINA Doping Panel Decision - Alexander Morgunov (RUS)
The FINA Doping Panel has decided that Mr. Alexander Morgunov shall be ineligible for two (2) years, commencing on 5 June 2009.
On the 22nd of March 2009, the swimmer Alexander Morgunov (RUS) underwent an out of competition doping test in Calella in Spain. The analytical report showed the presence of prohibited substances belonging to Class S.1.1.b Anabolic Androgenic Steroids, namely: Norandrosterone and Noretiocholanolone.
Provisional Suspension - Sabina Dostalova (CZE)
The Disciplinary Committee of the Czech Swimming Federation has provisionally suspended Ms. Sabina Dostalova following a positive result to the substance Methandienone (Class S.1.a Anabolic Agents) with the occasion of an in competition test conducted on 22 February 2009.
The provisional suspension is effective from 20th March 2009.
Doping Offences
Five (5) Chinese swimmers who were tested positive to the substance Clenbuterol (Class S 1.2 Other Anabolic Agents) during a national competition in June have been suspended by the Chinese Swimming Association:
1) Swimmer QU JING: 2 years suspension from 25 June 2008 ; coach Wang Hao: 1 year suspension from 25 June 2008
2) Swimmer LIU BINGYAO: 2 years suspension from 25 June 2008; coach Li Jiamei: 1 year suspension from 25 June 2008
3) Swimmer ZUO ZIQIAO: 2 years suspension from 23 June 2008; coach Chen Jun: 2 years suspension from 23 June 2008
4) Swimmer FU BO: 2 years suspension from 24 June 2008; coach Gao Fei: 2 years suspension from 24 June 2008
5) Swimmer HU SHAOZHI: 2 years suspension from 25 June 2008; coach Huang Xin: 1 year suspension from 25 June 2008
Doping Offence - Tommaso Zambelli (ITA)
On 6 July 2008, the swimmer Tommaso Zambelli (ITA) was tested positive to the substance THC (Cannabinoids) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the Swimming Competition in Lerici.
The Federal Appeal Commission imposed a sanction of six (6) months' suspension on the competitor in accordance with the FINA Rule DC 10.3.
Doping Offence - Andrea Rolle (ITA)
On 24 May 2008, the water polo player Andrea Rolle (ITA) was tested positive to the substance THC (Cannabinoids) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the water polo game in Ancona.
The Federal Appeal Commission imposed a sanction of three (3) months' suspension on the competitor in accordance with the FINA Rule DC 10.3.
WADA 2009 Prohibited List Now Published
The World Anti-Doping Agency has published the 2009 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods. This List will go into effect on January 1, 2009.

Provisional Suspension - Diogo Santos Serra (POR)
The Portuguese Swimming Federation Federation has provisionally suspended Mr. Diogo Santos Serra following a positive result to the substance Cocaine (Class S.6 Stimulants) with the occasion of of the Taça Portugal Masculinos on 5 July 2008.
FINA Doping Panel Decision - Rebecca Gusmao (BRA)
The FINA Doping Panel has decided that Ms. Rebecca Gusmao (BRA) shall be ineligible for lifetime for tampering.
All results achieved by the athlete since 18 July 2007 shall be annulled together with the consequence thereof (hand-back of medals / prizes, reimbursement of prize-money).
FINA Doping Panel Decision - In Sung Hong (PRK)
The FINA Doping Panel has decided that Ms. In Sung Hong (PRK) shall be ineligible for two (2) years after a positive doping control results with the occasion of the FINA Diving World Series in Nan Jing (China) on 1st June 2008 for the substances Furosemide (Class S.5 Diuretics).
The period of the Provisional Suspension imposed on Ms. In Sun Hong is to be credited against the total period of ineligibility to be served. Therefore the period of two (2) years’ ineligibility to be served shall start on 3rd July 2008.
