Any sanction imposed on a competitor or a person by FINA, a Member or by a FINA recognised body shall be recognised and enforced by all Members.

Doping Offence - Juha Korhonen (FIN)

On September 28, 2011, a water polo player Juha Korhonen (FIN) was tested positive to the substance Testosterone (Class S.1.1.B Endogenous Anabolic Androgenic Steroids) following an out of competition doping control test.

The Finnish Swimming Association imposed a sanction of 2 years’ ineligibility on the athlete starting on January 31, 2012.

 

Doping Offence - Botond Szalma (HUN/NED)

On November 20, 2011, a water polo player Botond Szalma (HUN/NED) was tested positive to the substance Cannabis (Class S.8 Cannabinoids) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the water polo match in Borculo (NED).

The Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation imposed a sanction of 5 months’ ineligibility on the athlete starting on December 15, 2011.

 

Doping Offence - Abdul Rehaman Al Bader (KUW)

On October 19, 2011, a swimmer Abdul Rehaman Al Bader (KUW) was tested positive to the substance Methylhexaneamine (Class S.6 Stimulants) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the 1st GCC Games-Bahrain 11.

The Kuwait Anti-Doping Disciplinary Commission (KADDC) imposed a sanction of 6 months’ ineligibility on the athlete starting on October 19, 2011.

 

Doping Offence - Fabiola Molina (BRA)

On April 22, 2011, a swimmer Fabiola Molina (BRA) was tested positive to the substance Methylhexaneamine (Class S.6 Stimulants) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the Brazilian Trials for the FINA World Championships 2011.

The Brazilian Swimming Federation (CBDA) imposed a sanction of 2 months’ ineligibility on the athlete starting on May 8, 2011.

FINA filed an appeal against this decision of CBDA to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. The CAS Panel decided that Fabiola Molina shall be suspended for a period of 6 months starting on 20 December 2011. Credit was given to the athlete for the period of suspension already served.

 

Doping Offence - Boris Loncaric (CRO)

On July 2, 2011, a swimmer Boris Loncaric (CRO) was tested positive to the substance Methylhexaneamine (Class S.6 Stimulants) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the “Golden Bear” International Swimming Competition.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Croatian Swimming Federation imposed a sanction of 4 months’ ineligibility on the athlete which began on July 2, 2011.

 

Doping Offence - Landon Marzullo (USA)

On August 16, 2011, a diver Landon Marzullo (USA) was tested positive to the substance Cannabis (Class S.8 Cannabinoids) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen (CHN).

The FISU International Medical Committee as well as the USA Diving imposed a sanction of a warning on the athlete.

 

Doping Offence - Enrico Catalano (ITA)

On July 10, 2011, a swimmer Enrico Catalano (ITA) was tested positive to the substance THC metabolites (Class S.8 Cannabinoids) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the Campionati Regionali Di Categoria Estivi.

The Federal Appeal Commission of the Italian Swimming Federation imposed a sanction of 2 months’ ineligibility on the athlete which began on August 5, 2011, the date of the provisional suspension.

 

Doping Offence - Alexander Bodyakin (RUS)

On March 7, 2011, a water polo player Alexander Bodyakin (RUS) was tested positive to the substance Furosemide (Class S.5 Diuretics) following an out of competition doping control test.

The Russian Water Polo Federation imposed a sanction of 6 months’ ineligibility on the athlete which began on March 21, 2011.

 

Doping Offence - Shiyun Chen (CHN)

On April 3, 2011, a swimmer Shiyun CHEN (CHN) was tested positive to the substance Prednisone (Class S9 Glucocorticosteroids) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the National Swimming Championships.

The China Swimming Association imposed a sanction of a warning on the athlete.

 

Doping Offence - Jing LIU (CHN)

On April 3, 2011, a swimmer Jing LIU (CHN) was tested positive to the substance Prednisone (Class S9 Glucocorticosteroids) following a doping control test conducted with the occasion of the National Swimming Championships.

The China Swimming Association imposed a sanction of warning on the athlete.
