World champion Serbia started strongly and then surfed in on the wave. The strength, ability and shooting prowess of the Serbs was a class above a Chinese team that put in quality work. At 9-1 China had a hard wall to climb but a third-quarter revival for 2-2 gave some promise for the rest of the tournament. Serbia scored at will with a great range of shots and attacking movements with every player showing their impressive skills. Captain UDOVICIC scored three late goals and FILIPOVIC opened up with his left arm when needed. China’s WU finished well in goal in the latter stages, thwarting many good Serbian attacks. However, in the end, with a 53% shooting statistic, the Serbs proved they are the team to beat in Shanghai.
