FINA Gold Medal Swimming Coaches Clinic


The world’s top swimming coaches will be on hand to offer their insight over the course of the two-day FINA Gold Medal Swimming Coaches Clinic, to be held at the 2012 FINA World Aquatics Convention in Moscow, Russia from October 29-30.


11 coaches from six different countries – all of whom helped steer an athlete to gold medal success at the London 2012 Olympic Games – will provide a comprehensive overview of coaching practices in Aquatics and share their valuable expertise with delegates interested in developing elite swimming athletes.

FINA Sports Medicine Congress

The 17th FINA World Sport Medicine Congress will take place in Istanbul, Turkey in December 2012 immediately before the FINA World Swimming Championships. The theme of the Congress is “Enhancing Performance: The Healthy Aquatic Athlete”.

FINA Extraordinary Congress

In accordance with FINA Rule C 15.5, the FINA Bureau has determined that an Extraordinary Meeting of a Congress shall be held on 21st July 2011 in Shanghai (CHN) with the occasion of the 14th FINA World Championships.

No subject shall be discussed at this special meeting other than the matters included in the Agenda below:

1. Declaration of quorum (Quorum shall be 20 Member Federations)
2. Welcome to Delegates by the FINA President
3. Introduction of the Head Table
4. FINA Constitution: proposals included in FINA Circular 77.3 (2011.3) - enclosed
5. Adjournment

The FINA Extraordinary Congress will start at 09:30 hours, with registration starting at 08:00 hours. The FINA Extraordinary Congress will be held at the following address:

All Members of FINA are hereby invited to attend this FINA Extraordinary Congress.
According to the FINA Rule C 15.2.1, each FINA Member Federation may appoint up to two (2) Delegates. Please fill out the attached form and return it to the FINA Office no later than 1st July 2011.

Simultaneous translation will be provided in English and French.
